Only a few hours from Marrakech, the High Atlas is a magical place.

The valley of the Ait Bougmez is situated 200 kilometres east of Marrakech in the heart of the Central High Atlas at the foot of the M’Goun range that soars to 13,356.30 feet. The ecolodge Dar Itrane is nestled in the charming Imeghas village, at an altitude of 5,905.51 feet. Accessible by tourist vehicle, Imeghas is approximately a four-hour drive from Marrakech.

Access :

  • From Marrakech, take the direction of Tamelelt and Beni Mellal to the North-East. After Tamelelt, go to he right towards Attaouïa Ech Cheibiya.
  • After Attaouïa Ech Cheibiya, follow in direction to Azilal.
  • In Azilal, at the first traffic light, turn right then left (10 meters after) towards Azilal hospital, Aït Mhammed and Aït Bougmez.
  • At stop sign, turn right towards Aït Mhammed and Aït Bougmez. Follow this road during 18 km.
  • Before reaching this village of Aït Mhammed, turn right towards Aït Bougmez and follow the road during 60 km. See the kilometer marquers to Tabant village to know the kilometer distance.
  • After 50 km, you will reach the first Aït Bougmez village, called Agouti.
  • Follow the main road on 8 km. The road becomes unpaved when the main road turns right to Tabant and crosses the valley (at a very big tree). Carry on to Imelghas village straight.
  • You enter the Imelghas village. Dar Itrane’s ecolodge is on the left side, 400 meters further, just a little up.
