2011 : Year dedicated to Imelghas village’s women

In March 2011, the women of Imelghas village have created their own association. We have been supporting them through three concrete projects, that are sustainable, environmentally-friendly, educational, and economically responsible :

• Manufacture of biological washing powder
Our partner Naturomteaches the village’s women to manufacture a biological washing powder exclusively made of natural products, in order to keep the most fragile natural resource in the valley: water.

•The Womens’ House
We participate in constructing and outfitting The Women’s House, which will have two rooms:.
• A teaching room which will enable Malika, a certified teacher, to give classes aiming both to teach the village’s women how to read and to write as well as to provide their children with education.
• A fully equipped weaving room which will bring back traditional goat wool weaving know-how. Clothes will then be sold both by Dar Itrane and by the women themselves. This is a simple economic project which will provide to the women and their family with a complementary, immediate and sustainable revenue.

In 2010

Machine to purify and filter water
Since August 2010, we have provided our guests with the opportunity to drink the water of the village’s river. Thanks to a filtration and purification process, we and our partner Wintsi ensure full-time drinking water, without any danger for young children.

This action has enabled us to reduce by 70% our plastic waste linked to the consumption of mineral water.

In 2008

Reconstruction of the village’s « Marabout »
In 2008, the reconstruction of the village’s Marabout. This place is very important for inhabitants, because it is the place for meeting and sharing. After 2 years of building, Origins’s team is very proud to have made this place accessible again.
